Coronation Street star Michael Le Vell is set to marry his fiancée, Louise Gibbons this weekend, following an almost decade-long engagement. According to The Sun, the couple will be tying the knot at a registry office in Manchester on Saturday (30 May).
Only 15 people are reportedly invited to the intimate ceremony, with the guest list including a few of the actor’s co-stars. The rest of the couple’s loved ones, meanwhile, will later join them for a private dinner celebration.
The wedding will be Le Vell’s second marriage, after he was previously hitched to fellow actor Janette Beverley. The pair, who share two children, were married for 25 years before separating in 2011. Le Vell met Gibbons in 2014, and proposed three years later.
While a celebration is on the horizon for the soon-to-be newlyweds, the same can’t be said for Le Vell’s Corrie character Kevin Webster. The mechanic has been put through the wringer in recent months, starting with his testicular cancer diagnosis.
Things then escalated when Kevin’s half-brother/nephew Carl arrived on the cobbled streets of Weatherfield, with the schemer having an affair with Kevin’s wife Abi amid their marital struggles.
Though Abi decided to leave Kevin for Carl, she was soon burnt by the lothario, who was cheating on her with neighbour James Bailey while plotting a move back to Germany without her.
Following the huge betrayal by his loved ones, Kevin’s mental health rapidly decreased, and he started to isolate himself from his friends. Fortunately, at his lowest point, Abi was able to calm him down, and the pair agreed to remain civil for the sake of the children.
Le Vell isn’t the only Corrie star to share some good news this week, with Sam Aston confirming that he is expecting another child with his wife, Briony Gardner. The actor, who plays Chesney Brown, announced the news with an amusing video on Instagram.
There was also good news for Calum Lill, who shared that he had welcomed a baby girl with fiancée Roberta Mcclarron. The star, who portrayed Joel Deering, shared an emotional post on social media on Tuesday (26 May).
